RENDERING

The Cortina Airport project represents the rebirth of a small and exclusive historic airport, destined to become a landmark in the area of interest for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics. The initiative has been developed with a fluid and organic approach: the infrastructure rises from the ground, gradually evolving and transforming into a large eye that welcomes the gaze, culminating along the runway. This vision aims to enhance the memory of the past, reinterpreting it through an innovative and sustainable approach.

"Architecture is a symphony of elements: nature, history and technology intertwine to create spaces that express beauty" explains architect Sette.

Architecture & Environment
  • Organic fluidity
  • Use of wood
  • Future memory

The choice of materials plays a crucial role: the predominant use of wood, combined with solar panels and near-zero energy design solutions, allows for the creation of a self-sustainable infrastructure, in stark contrast to traditional airports characterised by high levels of pollution. The project, located adjacent to Cortina but far from the city centre, is a virtuous model in which technical innovation is combined with a strong commitment to the environment and quality of life. The entire composition, which develops in a dynamic and harmonious way, has been designed to transform a place of transit into an icon of progress and rebirth. In this regard:

rebirth means reinvention: transforming a place of passage into a symbol of sustainable progress, where innovation echoes historical memory”.

With Cortina Airport, the aim is to breathe new life into an emblematic space, creating an environment that not only respects the historical identity of the place, but also ushers in a new era of responsible infrastructure in perfect harmony with the landscape and contemporary needs.
